welcome to the york pack
Hey there, I'm McKenna
Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I am an Arizona born, Wisconsin raised human. At age 3 I began to attend dance lessons that continued almost up until I left for college. While dance consumed much of my free time as a child, I was also able to cultivate a deep love for literature, drawing, painting, and film. I was homeschooled through 8th grade and then attended a performing arts school where I focused in theatre. At this point in my life I knew that I really wanted to be a wife and mother but I also knew that I couldn’t bank on that happening. While I wanted to study something useful in school, I also didn’t want to waste a ton of money working on a degree that I may not use in the work force for very long. I also didn’t want to invest much more in my dance career, having come to realize that, for my own sanity, I needed to close that door of my life, at least for the time being.
At this point, I decided to attend a small Christian University within an easy drive to my hometown. Initially, I majored in English, hoping that my love for writing and reading would develop some sort of career desire in that field. I then considered majoring in theatre, because I had been doing that for the past four years anyway. That had to mean something right? After that was communications with a media/design focus.
During this decision, my now husband Joel and I were getting to know each other. We met working at a local specialty coffee company and immediately connected over our love for youth ministry. We both knew pretty quickly that we were each other’s humans.
We got married almost two years later right after I finished up my associates degree in Bible and we were both still working full time for the coffee company. Pretty quickly after, Joel encouraged me to start a business, something that I had a desire to do for many years.
I had pretty much no experience running a business or working with Etsy, but I just decided to go for it. It was small, but it was a start!
As I became a mom to Boaz in early 2018, that seemed to open up so many more doors for me to explore and expand my business. I am very excited to have this new vehicle to reach people and create community! I hope you’ll follow along here.
